It was a beautiful sunny day. The waves crashed onto the Howick beach shore. 6D will certainly have a good time on Monday. 6D laughed and cheered as they reached their destination for Water wise. I got out of the car, put on my life jacket and got ready. I couldn't wait to get started. The life jacket strangled me as if it was a small boa. The smell made it even worse. It smelt like rotten fish with poo all over it. I’d rather get washed away by a wave than get strangled by this suit but I still wore it! I waited for instructions, “Everyone sit on the grass!” shouted Mr Nicholls. Running as fast as sound, I got to the grass and sat down quickly. Mr Nicholls told us the safety rules and all the parts of the boat. The speech was really boring but really important when your on the optimist so I still listened. I learnt how to tie the knots like the figure of eight and learnt some parts of the optimist like the boom which is used for moving the sail. Then 6d got into 5 groups. In our groups we built an optimist. After we finally got to eat our morning tea. After that we ate our delicious lunch. Once we finished eating our lunch we got to go into the sea for a swim. I didn’t want to go into the water because I didn’t want to get wet, so I went to get changed. It was a very fun day, way better than doing work at school.
